Captain Kosmakos

Where: 9610 Gulf Blvd, Treasure Island
What: Restaurant and bar, Dance Place
When: Fri and Sat are the best nights, ends at 1:30am but crowd thins out about 12am
Who: 50+, Local and tourists, Night Life Attire or dressy casual

Comments: Wear your dancing shoes and your meat-market clothes. Be prepared to walk the 'check out line' up the stairs through the smokers that have grown roots to the steps. The band is usually good, and it's crowded so be prepared to run into a few ex's along the way.

Boy, you hit the nail on the head about this place. Everytime I've been there the band has been excellent. However, that place has got to be the most difficult bar in town to circulate in. The tables are too close together and the aisles are narrow. Good luck getting over to the Bay side of the bar to ask a lady to dance.

Since it is an older crowd, people dress pretty nice. I just wish it was illegal for women who outweigh me to wear mini-skirts or Spandex.
