Entrees all have the island flair. Tropical space but you have to share it with everyone else in town. So come early to get a parking spot and don't take up too much elbow room.

Bahama Breeze
Dakota's Bar and Grill
Where: 7924 Ulmerton Road, Largo, (727) 536-7380
What: Sports Bar and Restaurant
When: 11am-2am
Who: Locals
How much: Appetizers $6-$8, Entrees $11-$18
Comments: Dakota's is a nice, chain-looking restaurant with extensive TV's on every wall, great for any sporting event coverage. The outside patio will be better when the plants grow, but it is close to the road and the road noise interferes with conversation. The wraps were good, but the vegetable soup appetizer was really forgetable. If your looking for dinner, there are better places to go.

Ringside Cafe
Where:2742 Fourth St N, St Petersburg
What: Local bar
When: 11am- 2:30am
Who: Locals
How much: Food is cheap and plentiful, typical bar stuff
Comments: A local hangout, it presents low-key venue for listening to good blues music and drinking. There are various TV's to satisfy the sports addict and you are in the lap of the singer for the music lover. The building could use some maintenance, wear jeans, and order a grouper sandwich.

The Frog Pond
Where: 16909 Gulf Blvd, N Redington Beach 727-392-4117
What: Breakfast Restaurant
When: breakfast till 2pm
Who: Many regulars and tourists
How much: $10-15
Comments: Plan to wait in line. A very popular place that looks like someone threw up frogs all around the room. There is an hours worth of entertainment just looking around the room. The menu seems pricey, but you get a huge amount of food, so if you are opposed to boxing it, you can eat a couple more meals from it. I had the mushroom, cheese and spinach omelet that was excellent, but I thought the home fries were on the greasy side. overall, a great place to take any out of town guests for an unusual atmosphere.

There is live music on Thurs, Fri, and Sat night in a bar in the back that was a surprise to me. I didn't know there was a bar back there. It was a very popular spot with the thirty crowd and a good place to dance.

Cody's Original Roadhouse
Where: 11270 4th St N, St Pete, 577-7730
What: Restaurant and Bar
When: 3:30 pm to close
Who: Locals
How much: Happy Hour 3-7pm, Early Bird 3-6pm, Dinners-$10-20
Comments: Cody's is a chain that features the rustic look with buckets of peanuts at the tables, along with crayons for the kids to draw on. The bar is popular and you have to get there early to get a seat, or be stuck at a table. Mon and Tues, kids eat free, Wed is BOGO fajitas, and Thurs is $12 Sirloin Steak night. Try the awesome rolls and cinnamon butter. It is addictive. the chicken quesdillas are better than average, with a decent amount of chicken in them. They are not served with salsa, so you have to ask for that.
